The park and gardens have been landscaped since 1980 by the previous owner, a landscape gardener, in keeping with the site’s role as a nursery and breeding ground for anatidae and parkland birds. The current owner, who has a passion for stone, nature and green spaces, has collected rare species of exotic birds, anatidae and parkland birds here. He has continued to restore and modernise the farmhouse and grounds.
The autumn prunings produce a mulch that is used as humus in the flower beds. The garden is worked in \u2018free nature\u2019 mode. Several ancient stone fountains adorn the exterior.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The park boasts more than a hundred varieties of plants, including maples, birches, willows, poplars, almond trees, lime trees, olive trees, oaks, laurels, hazelnuts, chestnut trees, cypresses, Indian lilacs, broom, arbutus, calistemon, magnolias, fig trees and flowering cherry trees, sage (perovskia), pomegranate, pittosporum, holly, Judas tree, silk tree (albizia), tamarisk, cordyline, pistachio (lentiscus), yucca, flowering plane trees, hornbeam (carpinus), ash (fraxinus), medlar, hackberry, cedar, tulip tree, privet, photinias…<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The park is home to about a dozen varieties of bamboo, including phyllostachys aurea, phyllostachys nigra, phyllostachys aureosulcata spectabilis (variegated thatch), phyllostachys viridis sulphurea (giant bamboos on the banks of the north water body), hibanobambusa tranquillans (broad-leaved), hibanobambusa tranquillans shiroshima (variegated broad-leaved), fargesia rufa,….
In addition, pink lotuses were planted in 1980 in the northern basin, now covering an area of 3,000 m\u00b2 and flowering every summer.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Many birds and animals, including some rare species, visit or naturally populate the area, including : Little Egret (Egretta garzetta), Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea), Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis), European Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), Titmouse, Woodpecker, Mallard, Moorhen, Coypu (Myocastor coypus)…
Among the non-native domestic species are Mandarin Ducks, White Mandarins, Indian Runners, Teal, Koi Carp and Goldfish.
